Privacy Policy

1. Overview

ChirpAudio is a local music and audiobook player for your personal device. Audio you choose is copied into the app sandbox for playback. We respect your privacy: the app does not require an account, and we do not operate a backend account system for collecting personal data. We do not upload your library or listening history to developer-operated servers.

2. Information We Process

• Files you choose: Audio and lyrics you add via the system document picker are stored only in the on-device app sandbox for playback and management.
• Media Library (optional): With your permission, the app may import tracks that are already downloaded to this device from Media & Apple Music. Cloud-only Apple Music items and DRM-protected content cannot be imported.
• On-device preferences: Library index, playback position, play mode, equalizer settings, favorites, and playlists are stored on your device only.
• Lock Screen / Control Center: While playing, iOS Now Playing may show title, artist, and artwork based on local metadata.

3. Network

Core features (local playback, library management, synced lyrics display) work without an internet connection. The current version does not query third-party lyrics or music services and does not ship an online lyrics library.

Lyrics come only from files you import (e.g. matching .lrc / .txt) or embedded audio metadata, stored in the on-device app sandbox.

4. What We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect personal data for advertising or behavioral analytics;
• The current version does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs;
• We do not request unrelated sensitive permissions such as Contacts or precise Location for core playback.

5. Storage and Security

Audio and related metadata remain in the app container on your device, protected by the iOS sandbox. Uninstalling the app may delete sandbox data. Please keep your own backups of important source files.

6. Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us at the email below and we will help address it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date on this page will be revised when we do. For material changes, we will try to provide reasonable notice (for example via app release notes). Continued use of the app means you understand the updated policy.
